Effect of Temp for Ergomo Offset

How much does Temperature effect the offset reading for the Ergomo
Pro? When I perform the offset indoors (75 degrees) then ride
outside30-50 degrees, my wattage numbers seem to be low. I am not
sure if this is purely coincidence or if I should begin to perform the
offset test outside.

Thanks!

I read on the Erogomo site that a 20 degree temperature difference
could lead to a different offset number. I normally do my offset
after the bike has been outside.

I've noticed that the offset on my Ergomo tends to increase when the
bike sits for a few hours after a ride, and then decrease slightly
after a few minutes into a ride. The variation is slight, from 985.0
"hot" to something like 985.7 "cold". These numbers are taken from the
device configuration screen in Ergoracer. I only have about 700 miles
on my bottom bracket installation, so maybe things will settle out
more in the future. The actual affect on the power reading is probably
inconsequential, but I do make it a practice to only do the offset
procedure after the bike has been ridden a few minutes.

I would guess that a 20 degree temperature change could affect offset
as a result of expansion/contraction of the various parts involved.
Although temperature changes might affect the Ergomo, I'd guess that
the affect would be less than for those devices that rely on strain
gages. In any case, it would probably be good practice to do an
offset check anytime the bike is ridden in conditions that vary
significantly from those where the last offset was done.

I cannot confirm this influence of temperature on the offset factor.
My bike normally stands in the basement at 18°C and is calibrated
there. After riding for 20 min at around 0°C I once checked the offset
and it was the same. As Ergoman posted, due to the measuring mechanism
of the Ergomo, it´s likely that it is the most robust of all PM in the
context of changing temperatures.
